East York got a solid pitching performance from junior call up Ronan Smith(1-0), and beat the front running Ajax Spartans 7-1 on Monday night at Stan Wadlow Park.
It was the first loss of the year for the Spartans, who fell behind early and simply didn't muster any offense.
