Hawks get it done at home

Written by Rev

In a tight, well played Tuesday evening contest, the Newmarket Hawks staved off the East York Bulldogs for a 4-3 home win at the Newmarket Fairgrounds.

Vic Simon(1-2) gave the home side just what they needed with a quality seven inning start in earning his first win of 2017. The veteran right hander allowed two runs, while frustrating East York hitters throughout the night. Alex Bruce recorded the final three outs to earn his first save of the season. Troy McLaughlin had his first home run of the year on the offensive side for Newmarket, who improved to 9-11 with the win.
