Sox win in Newmarket

The Martingrove Sox won their second road game of the year, with a 6-5 victory Tuesday night in Newmarket.

Stephen Roncadin(1-0) was the winner on the hill for Martingrove, and Adam Frydman recorded the final outs for his first save. The Sox went deep three times on the night, including rookie Matt Peluso's ninth inning two run shot, his league leading third of the early season. Matt Blair-Brown and Steve Ranalli also added home runs, their firsts of the year in the win.

Brad Crone(1-1) took the loss for the Hawks who fell to 2-3, and have a date with the Reds in Thornhill Wednesday night at Bishops Cross. The Sox are also right back at it as they travel to Pickering to do battle with the Red Sox. Both games are 7:30pm starts.

Pickering and East York split Victoria Day double header

The Pickering Red Sox and East York Bulldogs did battle on Monday evening at Stan Wadlow Park, and split a double header with the hometown Bulldogs taking game one 12-9, and the Red Sox riding some solid pitching for a 3-0 game two win.

- East York is off until next Monday at home, and Pickering is back in action when they host Martingrove at Don Beer Park on Wednesday

Leafs win again

The Leaside Leafs beat the Martingrove Sox on back to back nights, after a lopsided 12-2 win Friday night.

Francis Toribio(1-0) struck out five en route to the win, and Andrew Morales worked the final three frames to earn his first save. Infielder Nick Manoukarakis led the Leafs offense with a 3-5 night, scoring three times in the win.

Adam O'Brodovich(0-1) took the loss, while Anand Puran went deep for the Sox, his first of 2017.
